A working relationship built for audit season
We work alongside multiple CPA and audit firms as their clients' outsourced bookkeeping team: your firm performs the audit or review engagement, and we handle the bookkeeping the engagement depends on. It's a clear division of work — you focus on the assurance engagement itself, and we make sure the underlying file is accurate, complete, and ready for your team to test.
Our bookkeeping is maintained in accordance with Canadian GAAP, following the Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) under Part II of the CPA Canada Handbook — the standard most of your private-company clients are reporting under. Where a client's engagement calls for IFRS or ASNPO treatment instead, we coordinate with your team on the applicable framework.
Munawar Pallimeera, who leads our bookkeeping team, previously worked as a Financial Controller overseeing budgeting, financial statement preparation, and CRA audit support, and earlier as a Senior Staff Accountant at a public accounting firm supporting Audit, Review, and SOX engagements directly. That background means our team understands what an assurance file needs to look like before your staff ever opens it — because we've sat on both sides of that handoff.
Your firm owns the audit or review opinion. We own the bookkeeping the opinion is built on.
What we prepare and maintain
The file support your assurance team actually needs when fieldwork begins — organized before you ask for it, not after.
Bank & credit card reconciliations
Monthly reconciliations kept current throughout the year, not assembled retroactively at year-end.
Analytical procedures support
Account-level detail and period-over-period comparisons organized to support your team's analytical procedures.
AP & AR aging summaries
Accounts payable and accounts receivable aging maintained and available on request, not compiled last-minute.
Amortization schedules
Capital asset continuity and amortization schedules created and kept current, tying directly to the general ledger.
Revenue recognition support
Revenue recorded consistently with the client's recognition policy, flagged clearly where judgment or cutoff matters.
Source document collection
We collect and organize supporting documentation from clients directly, so backup is on file before your team asks for it.
GL walkthrough sessions
Available for walkthrough sessions with your assurance team during fieldwork — covering the general ledger and answering account-specific questions directly.
Payroll & remittance records
Payroll processing, T4/T4A filing, and remittance records maintained and reconciled to the general ledger.
Already working with a client who needs this?
If you're a CPA or audit firm with a client whose bookkeeping needs to be brought current or handed off cleanly, we're happy to talk through the file before engagement work begins.
